SHERIDAN SADDLE & SILVER SHOW OF 2012MEET THE ARTISTS AND VIEW THIER WORK- RIGHT HERE! To explain for those of you just reading this and wondering what this Show is all about. It is a Show that celebrates and promotes quality engraving, quite specifically western engraving. And this year, we hope turns out even better than last years Show with attendance and sales. Once again we have from 40-50 high quality artisans submitting very interesting silverwork. This includes everything from silver goblets to western buckles and conchos. As an added attraction to the Sheridan Silver & Saddle Show, we have aded a Buckle Making contest to this years event. Its open to anyone wanting to participate for an entry fee of $25.00 each person. The contestants work will be judged by the gallery visitors, and the winner will be awarded on Saturday evening. I anticipate we will have some very collectable pieces made for this event, I suggest you stop by the Gallery and pick your piece
out. There will be an invitational Saddle Show held this year within the gallery. This is an invitational only affair with 6-8 saddle makers submitting flower carved saddles only. The Gallery is open from 8am, till 6pm each day, with most items on display being for sale. The saddles, all floral carved and incorporating what ever amount of handmade silver they desire. Some of the saddles will be for sale as well. We will be having an open house night again during the Show, just not sure which night it is yet, we will post that soon so that you can make plans to attend and enjoy a weekend in Sheridan, seeing /buying great work, and making new friends. We could use some help gathering up items to work with in setting up the display for the 2012 year.HELP, I SAID HELPYup, we are getting down thiere to the time when this Show will be on display again, and we are sure short on props to use within the display. So if you have anything laying
about, now is the time to get it sent in to Don & Kitty. We have sort of a theme going, at least with regard to the way we would like to display it. So, if you have old glass items, bottles, jars etc. We would like some colored ones if possible. We can make good use of old signage, but think smaller here please, want to stay with old signs on tin/sheet steel. How about different patterns of punched steel cieling tiles or the cornice moldings, again think smaller not a whole store roof here. And old tin cans, product tins with labels and logos, all sizes, shapes and continents of origin are just fine for us. Any old glass or tin product, that you think is interesting and has character is what we are after.DO NOT SEND US ANYTHING that you will want back. These are donations to and will be used as we feel best fits the Show we are putting up. All donations are permanentLet me take a moment to say thanks to you all for anything you can send us. Send it to Custom
