JWP- Snaffles

SNAFFLES, are the primary bit used when starting colts, it is quite simple really. The snaffle allows us to convey to a young horse without causing fear. These bits are made with the right amount of wieght to have presence in the horses mouth. The right amount of copper to promote and maintain that moist and receptive mouth that all horse men desire. The right amount of finish to let all of those who stop to admire a JWP bit know they are looking at quality.

This is our regular Egg-Butt snaffle, made with a full 5 inch width sweet steel mouth with plenty of Copper inlaid. The metal is highly polished and then hot blued.

The Stainless Egg Butt Snaffle, this is the classic snaffle that we have been making in sweet steel for years now. But this version is done entirely in Stainless with copper inlaid or without in it for those of you whom choose to Show in an English event. If you have been looking for the same great eggbutt but have trouble with rust, then try the stainless version. Mouthpiece width full 5 inch width. Mouthpiece diameter 3/8". Stainless eggbutt comes with copper inlaid or without in the mouth.

RING SNAFFLE This is the product that started our little Company, and we have improved it here in the version that you see today. The older version was always right on the 5" width, and folks kept asking for a quarter inch more, so the new mouth is the 5.25 width. The rings are the same size as always. The ball diameter was increased just a little to accomodate the wider mouth. All of these Ring Snaffles have a copper inlaid mouth that has been highly polished, the finish is a hot blue. HEAVY TRAINER This heavy trainer snaffle was the one featured in the NEW GEAR section of the July issue of Western Horseman. This bit has a strait 6 inch mouthpiece with inlaid copper stripes. This bit is extra heavy and enhances the feel between horse and rider during fast paced competitive events such as the working cow horse. Comes in either blued or polished steel. Jeremiah worked closely with Ted Robinson in the design phase of this bit.
